Coming together to make a difference

Our growing community of global colleague networks helps to connect and support everyone who is part of our Group.

They help us to celebrate what makes us unique as individuals and they bring us together to learn how to better support each other - at work, at home and in the community. Our networks play a vital role in helping build the strong relationships and supportive teams where we all feel we are valued, seen, heard and belong.

They're full of passionate colleagues bringing their unique perspectives, experiences and voices to help us make a collective difference to our Group and the world around us.

Our Global Colleague Networks

Our Disability and Difference Global Network is a community where we come together to discuss all things related to disability and difference, including impairment and neurodiversity, and where we work to bring best practice to our workplaces globally.

Recognising individual difference as a collective strength and that we all need different kinds of support at different times to get the best from work, our Disability and Difference Network is helping us all to understand how to bring positive change for colleagues, customers, family and friends. The network has marked International Day of Persons with Disabilities with global webinars on themes such as Autism, heart conditions, chronic fatigue, dyslexia and ‘hidden’ disabilities. It has also used these to challenge misconceptions about disability and promote consciously inclusive language around difference, with inspiration from external speakers including para-athlete Eden Rainbow-Cooper.
Our LGBTQ+ & Friends Global Network connects and supports lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer and questioning colleagues and their allies across the Spirax Group to create a more inclusive and equitable world for LGBTQ+ people at work, home and in the community.

Following the success of our Steam Specialties EMEA Region LGBTQ+ & Friends Network and a series of global Pride webinars in 2023, our LGBTQ+ & Friends Global Network is helping us progress our LGBTQ+ journey and supports our commitment to the United Nations LGBTI Standards of Conduct for Business. Its focus is on bringing LGBTQ+ colleagues together, on empowering local activity (like Pride events and workshops), helping colleagues with LGBTQ+ matters at work or at home, and growing our voice in the communities we are part of.
Our Mental Health and Wellbeing Global Network is a supportive space for colleagues to share experiences that promote mental health awareness, empower positive wellbeing and help us all to support each other on the challenges that life sends us.

Building on our World Mental Health Day activity and our International Men’s Day global webinars (which have covered topics such as prostate cancer awareness and preventing male suicide), our new Mental Health and Wellbeing Global Network aims to become a community that breaks the stigma associated with many mental health and wellbeing matters. Through the power of colleague stories, encouraging conversations, signposting support (like our free, confidential, global Employee Assistance Programme) and encouraging colleagues to use their annual Wellbeing Day and volunteering days, it seeks to support everyone who is part of the Spirax Group.
Our Multicultural Global Network is a space for us to come together to celebrate the culture, heritage, origins and beliefs of our colleagues around the world, and where we learn how to better support each other as active allies.

Our new Multicultural Global Network was established following a series of global webinars that helped colleagues understand what racism looks like in different cultures and contexts and how we can all go from being ‘non-racist’ to ‘actively anti-racist’. The network is becoming a space where we can celebrate the diversity of our colleagues and learn how to better support colleagues from different cultures, ethnicities and origins. The network also aims to help us on our journey to become more faith-aware around the world.
Our Women’s Global Network is an inclusive community that connects and supports all women across our Group - empowering learning and development, bringing positive change to careers and lives, and welcoming colleagues of all genders as we work towards a more gender equal world.

As our most established community, our Women’s Global Network is championing careers, personal development, health, wellbeing and more for women and those who identify as a woman. Each year, it celebrates International Women’s Day and International Women in Science and Engineering Day, as well as running global webinars on topics as wide-ranging as menstrual health, menopause, personal purpose, psychological safety, allyship across genders and more. The network encourages local connections and conversations and is also exploring regional or in-country networks to grow its impact in our workplaces around the world.
Our Working Families Global Network is dedicated to connecting and supporting colleagues with childcare responsibilities – sharing stories, providing peer-to-peer support and helping bring positive change for all types of working families, everywhere.

Originally started as a network to help colleagues who were balancing working from home and home-schooling during COVID lockdowns around the world, our Working Families Global Network is evolving to explore all aspects of family life for families of all shapes and sizes. It brings colleagues together, recognising the common challenges working families can face, sharing in some light-hearted relief through stories and family moments, and providing helpful parenting and caregiving insights from the wider world.
