Engaging People and Communities

Delivering lasting and positive impacts where it matters

We are proud of the difference we already make in our local communities through the work of our colleagues, operating companies and the Group Education Fund.  Our second area of focus is to continue supporting people and communities in ways that build trust and deliver lasting positive impact through volunteering, charitable giving and investment in education.

We will also continue to engage with stakeholders to promote understanding and protection of human rights across our workforce, the communities we operate in and throughout our value chain.

Alignment with UN SDGs

Prioritising and measuring progress and impact, with a clear set of defined targets

This focus area is underpinned by a number of defined targets that enable us to prioritise our efforts and measure our progress and impact, these are:

Target Why this is important Our progress to date

Strengthening Human Rights:

by completing a global human rights risk assessment across our operations and key suppliers, we will define targeted mitigation actions and establish oversight and monitoring.

Managing human rights risks helps protect people and our licence to operate, strengthens trust with customers and stakeholders and ensures we meet growing expectations and regulatory requirements across our operations and supply chain.

Developing our assessment approach

Engaging our communities:

by maintaining our cash donations, in-kind support and colleague volunteering at an average of 1% of pre‑tax profits over five years, we are continuing to help our local communities to thrive.

Investing time and resources in communities builds trust and long-term partnerships. It helps address local needs, boosts colleague pride and engagement through being enabled to deliver meaningful local impact, strengthening our social licence to operate where we work.

Strengthening Human Rights

Strengthening human rights is central to how Spirax Group operates and creates long-term sustainable value.

We assess and monitor risks across our operations and supply chains, using global risk assessments to identify where human rights impacts may arise.

Our policies and Statements, including our Human Rights Policy Statement (found within our Moden Slavery Statement) as well as our Supplier Sustainability Code, set clear expectations for our colleagues and suppliers.

We work with suppliers to improve standards, supported by ongoing monitoring, corrective actions and targeted engagement.

Through this approach, we aim to protect people, strengthen trust with stakeholders and ensure responsible, sustainable business.

A force for good in the communities where we operate

Engaging our communities

Spirax Group is committed to making a positive difference in the communities where we operate. Through volunteering, charitable donations and local partnerships, our colleagues support initiatives that strengthen communities today and help build resilience for the future.

We focus on meeting local needs in ways that create lasting impact, through tackling issues such as poverty, hunger, inequality, access to education, climate change and biodiversity loss.

That starts with giving every colleague across the Group access to three days of paid volunteering leave each year.

As a result, between 2021 and 2025, colleagues contributed c.112,000 volunteering hours in support of local communities, schools, charities and environmental initiatives. That’s the equivalent of 12.8 years of continuous volunteering.

Alongside our charitable giving and the work of the Spirax Group Education Fund, we have so far donated £5.5 million to tackle these issues in our local communities.

Health and Safety

The Health and Safety (H&S) of everyone in and associated with Spirax Group is our first priority and considered in everything we do. We also seek to engage and inspire our colleagues on H&S topics so that they recognise the important role they play in our collective responsibility. This means always doing the right thing, even when no-one is looking, because Health and Safety is never fixed.

We believe that a strong H&S culture is one where respect, care, integrity and accountability are all evident. We encourage our colleagues to think beyond compliance with the rules when it comes to their own health, safety and wellbeing and that of their colleagues.

For our Group Chief Executive Officer, Board of Directors and Executive management teams, H&S is a priority and it is the first consideration in all that we do. Nothing is more important to us than the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues, which is why H&S is always a standing agenda item at every Board and Group Executive Committee meeting.

We know that sometimes it can be challenging to keep safety in focus during busier times or when conducting routine, everyday tasks, so we have a proactive programme of safety focused initiatives, communications and engagement. This includes an annual Global Safety Stand Down (GSSD) where we ask colleagues all around the Group to ‘stand down’ from their normal roles for an hour on the same day to meet with their leadership and colleagues and engage in meaningful discussions on safety and wellbeing topics.

In 2026, our Global Safety Stand Down asked colleagues to focus on making the right choice, the safe choice and we shared a video featuring colleagues from across the Group telling their personal stories, on why safety matters.

Everyone is Included

We believe diverse teams brings a variety of thinking, skills and experiences that make us more innovative and more creative. When our teams work in a culture where everyone is treated fairly and supported to thrive, we all benefit. This is both a business performance imperative and a reflection of our Values.

That is why we launched Everyone is Included, our Group Inclusion Plan, in 2022.  The Plan has ten commitments which aim to make a meaningful difference to colleagues right across our Group.  Read more about our Inclusion Commitments here.

We are also pleased with the progress we have made towards our 2025 Group Diversity Goals, recognising there is more to do.
