Spirax Group Education Fund

Supporting inclusive and equitable access to education

The Spirax Group Education Fund was established in 2022, with a donation target of up to £15 million to educational causes by 2030. The Education Fund supports inclusive and equitable access to education in the communities where we operate.

Through colleague led nominations and local partnerships, we help remove barriers to learning, strengthen access to STEM and improve opportunity for people who might otherwise be left behind.

Education Fund in numbers

Since its launch in 2022:

  • 179 applications have been approved

  • £4.1 million has been donated to projects in 38 countries

  • 77 different operating companies have successfully secured funding for their community projects

How the fund works

The Education Fund is a central source of funding that colleagues across Spirax Group’s operating companies can access to support a local educational need. Applications are reviewed by the Fund’s Committee. If an application is successful, the requested funds are paid to the relevant operating company to make the donation locally.   We ask our local teams to follow up on outcomes so we can understand and share the difference the funding has made.

In 2026, we made changes to how the Education Fund is managed, with the aim of making it quicker and easier for colleagues to apply for funding. This including the outsourcing of contracting, payment of grants and reporting, to the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), a third-party grant-making specialist.

Creating a more equitable future

Our Education Fund exists to promote inclusive and equitable access to education in the communities in which we operate. It has three clear aims:

  • Increase engagement with STEM and promote diversity in engineering and digital

  • Improve female access to education in our local communities

  • Remove physical and financial barriers to education in our local communities

Where we are making our difference

  • STEM access for underserved students: grants have supported robotics, engineering mentorship and classroom equipment so more students can take part in practical learning
  • Removing financial barriers: scholarships and tuition support have helped students from disadvantaged backgrounds access university level engineering education
  • Skills for employability: support has included training programmes that build job ready skills, including technology and renewable energy related learning
  • Inclusive support for learners with additional needs: projects have helped students with autism and other learning challenges build literacy and engagement through tailored tools and approaches
